Our History
M.I.L.L.S. Institute opened its doors on January 2009 at a time when the country was experiencing the worst economic recession in its history. This school was a life dream of the owners, Dr. Carlton and Debby-Lee Mills who are retired teachers and have over 60 years of teaching experience combined.
M.I.L.L.S. Institute opened its doors on January 2009 at a time when the country was experiencing the worst economic recession in its history. This school was a life dream of the owners, Dr. Carlton and Debby-Lee Mills who are retired teachers and have over 60 years of teaching experience combined. Dr. Mills holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Sheffield in the UK and Mrs. Mills holds a Masters Degree in Educational Management from the University of Leicester in the UK. With these qualifications and experience to support them they forged ahead with great confidence and expectancy to succeed.
The school was located for the first year and three months in rental facilities at the New Hope Complex in East Long Bay road. We relocated to Windsor Place or L’Raye Plaza in April 2010 until we relocated for the final time in September 2011 to our own facilities in the quiet, residential area of Juba Sound, Providenciales.
M.I.L.L.S. Institute face many challenges over the years including several burglaries, vandalism, attrition of students, nonpayment of tuition and high turnover of teachers but we have stayed the course and have now formed a niche in the education sector of the TCI.
The school has grown from 18 students in 2009 to a population of one hundred and sixty five to date. We have already proudly developed a strong reputation and are confident that with our complement of qualified and dedicated teachers, our enrolment and achievements will continue to grow in the years ahead.
